Make it Oban Lesbian+ WEEK! Join us for our day trip to Tobermory and Easdale Island on Tuesday 8th or Wednesday 9th!
Explore the stunning islands around Oban — choose your adventure!
Tobermory Village, Isle of Mull, Tuesday 8th September
Times (approximate):
We’ll meet and catch the ferry together around 12pm, then travel on our own Lesbian+ bus from Craignure to Tobermory.
We will return on the 6pm ferry.
⏰ Times are approximate as CalMac haven’t published the Summer 2026 timetable yet — but these are very similar each year.
We only have 1 bus, so spaces are extremely limited!!
🌊 What to expect
The Isle of Mull ferry crossing is an experience in itself.
If we’re on the larger ferry, there’ll be a bar and restaurant onboard, plus stunning views as we sail past castles, lighthouses, and wildlife hotspots.
This smaller-group trip is also a lovely chance to spend time with women you may not have met — or had enough time with — during OLW.
🏘 Tobermory is famous for its colourful harbour (and as the filming location for Balamory), and there’s plenty to enjoy at your own pace.
🍽 We’ll have a pub lunch overlooking the beach booked, or you may prefer to grab sandwiches, pies, or cakes from Tobermory Stores and eat outside overlooking the beach.
Lunch and alcohol are at your own cost.
🥃 Tobermory Distillery is well worth a visit — we recommend booking a tour in advance if you’re keen.
🚶 Some of the OLW team will also lead a gentle walk above the village, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way.
🏊 Fancy a swim?
Bring your swimmers or wetsuit — Tobermory Bay is beautiful, with clear blue water.
There are toilets and showers at the harbour (small fee).
⚠️ Swimming is at your own risk. We recommend swimming with others and not entering the water if you’ve consumed alcohol.

Day Trip to Easdale Island, Wednesday 9th September
We'll be catching the bus from Oban, over the famous Atlantic Bridge, to the tiny historic village of Ellenabeich.
🌿 What we’ll be doing
🚤 From Ellenabeich, the tiny ferry to Easdale Island takes just 5 minutes and carries around 10 people per crossing— part of the charm.
🏘 Ellenabeich village itself is a joy to explore. Simply wandering around feels like stepping back in time, with a few small shops and plenty of photo spots.
🍽 We’ll have lunch together at the Oyster Bar & a free drink, with our team helping make introductions so no one feels awkward.
🏝 On Easdale Island:
• Visit the Easdale Folk Museum
• Explore a car-free island with only around 60 residents
• Spot the famous wheelbarrows locals use instead of cars
• Try your hand at stone skimming — Easdale hosts the World Stone Skimming Championships
• Walk around the island (30–60 minutes depending on pace)
• Wander to the old slate quarries, around 15 minutes away
🏊 Fancy a swim?
Bring your swimmers or wetsuit if you’d like to dip in the beautiful flooded quarries.
We’ll have an open-water swimming instructor with us, and we also have a limited number of wetsuits available to borrow — just let us know in advance.
